The Recording Artists And Producers Fund

The RAP fund is an innovative scheme designed to support New Zealand artists and producers by ensuring licence fees collected by PPNZ Ltd are identified and passed on to Rap registered participants. If you are a New Zealand artist and have released a single, album, or video you may be eligible to receive payments from the RAP fund.


HOW  MUCH & Where does the money come from?

Under the Copyright Act 1994, PPNZ Ltd licenses other parties for the use of its members' recordings. Licencees may be broadcasters, public performance venues, or special-use compilers and production houses.


How are the funds allocated?

Distribution of the funds is based on actual airplay or usage of New Zealand singles and album tracks and Music Videos.


Who gets paid?

Artists and producers of recordings registered with the RAP Fund get 50% each. "producers" in this context means the owners of the master tape.
